Job Summary
This two-year full-time Bioinformatician role at the Gerhard-Domagk-Institute for Pathology, part of the University Hospital Münster (UKM), offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge molecular pathology diagnostics. The successful candidate will be instrumental in expanding the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) platform to include Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) and Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) as part of the "Genome Sequencing Model Project." Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and implementing analytical algorithms and pipelines, evaluating genome, transcriptome, and methylome data (including assembly, annotation, and in-silico evaluation), and optimizing database structures for integrated analytics. This position is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in bioinformatics, excellent programming skills, and a desire to engage in scientific projects and student teaching within a collaborative team environment. The role also offers the possibility and support for Habilitation.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biosciences, or Biomedicine (or equivalent); a successfully completed doctorate is desirable.

- Temporary contract for two years; willingness to participate in scientific projects and student teaching; full measles vaccination required.
