Job Summary

The Saxony State Investigation Office for Health and Veterinary Affairs is seeking a Scientific Officer specializing in Food Chemistry to join their Official Food Examinations department in Chemnitz. This role involves comprehensive expert activities in food chemistry, including the analysis of food products, preparation of expert opinions and statements for legal proceedings, and public relations in consumer health protection. The successful candidate will also be responsible for scientific and methodological work to introduce new examination methods, guide laboratory personnel, and ensure quality management from sample reception to final reporting. Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed university degree in Food Chemistry, successfully passed state examination as a certified Food Chemist.

Experience

  • Comprehensive experience in method development
  • Extensive knowledge in the examination and assessment of food products, particularly convenience foods, fats, oils, and additives
  • Foundational knowledge of sampling and analytical procedures
  • Knowledge of laboratory organization and application of quality management systems
