Doctoral Researcher (PhD) - Quantum-Classical Co-Simulation Framework Development | Physiker (m/w/d)
Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH
Job Summary
This four-year doctoral project at Forschungszentrum Jülich offers an exciting opportunity to bridge scientific disciplines by developing a quantum-classical co-simulation framework for neurobiological systems. The successful candidate will implement a multiscale quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics (QM/MM) molecular dynamics simulation code using a Quantum Centric Supercomputing (QSC) approach for the QM problem. This involves integrating the code into the MiMiC framework, developing communication interfaces between quantum computers and classical HPC resources, and validating the implementation on IBM's quantum computer. The role requires applying the developed code to simulate proton transport in vesicular glutamate transporters, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team from various institutes and international partners, and actively participating in conferences and preparing scientific publications. This position is ideal for those passionate about tackling complex societal challenges through interdisciplinary collaboration in a vibrant, international research environment.
