Job Summary

The City of Nuremberg is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering professional, specializing in Building Services or Energy and Building Technology, to join their Public Works Department. This role is a preparatory service position leading to a permanent civil servant role. The successful candidate will focus on building services engineering, preparing to independently lead and plan projects related to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. They will also act as a technical project lead for building services and mechanical systems within the city's construction projects, contribute to realizing climate-neutral and sustainable system technology, and support external planning offices. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or those nearing completion of their studies to gain hands-on experience in diverse public construction projects, including schools, fire departments, and the zoo, within a secure public service environment.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree or 'Diplom-Ingenieur (FH)' in Building Technology. Applications are accepted from candidates nearing completion of their studies, provided the degree is obtained by November 1, 2025.

Experience

  • Professional experience in building services engineering or energy and building technology is beneficial, but not strictly required as this is a preparatory service position.
  • Experience with HOAI and VOB is expected.
