Job Summary
This role seeks a Bioinformatician with strong expertise in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) to join a leading proficiency testing provider in Germany. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing bioinformatics analyses for NGS data, including the creation of custom R packages and command-line tools. Key responsibilities involve quality control, processing, and preparing NGS data for medical and scientific evaluation, as well as performing functional and structural genomic analyses. Required Skills
Education
University degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biology, or a related field
Experience
- Extensive knowledge and practical experience with bioinformatics analyses, especially in NGS
- Experience applying R and command-line based analysis tools
- Proficient in quality control methods and statistical evaluations of large genomic datasets
- Ideally, experience with public sequence databases, error correction algorithms, and advanced NGS evaluation methods
