Job Summary

This role is for a Geoinformatics Specialist or Geoscientist with a strong IT background to join the Central Office of the States for IT-supported Decision-Making Aids and Programs in Plant Protection (ZEPP). The successful candidate will primarily focus on the "PAM-Service" project, a web service designed to reduce risks in the application of fertilizers and plant protection products, which is now being rolled out nationwide. Key responsibilities include conducting research and development for practical solutions in geospatial data processing, creating requirement analyses for the PAM service, and developing scalable IT methods for geodata management. The position also involves scientific analysis of satellite and drone data, building WebGIS viewers, and developing REST services and backend functionalities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to digital decision-making systems in conventional and organic plant protection, working with cutting-edge geospatial technologies and contributing to agricultural practice.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (M. Sc., Diploma) in Geoinformatics or Geosciences with an IT focus

Experience

  • Professional experience in geodata processing, transformation, provision, and integration with QGIS/ArcGIS Pro
  • Experience in managing common database systems with geodata extensions
  • Experience with WebGIS applications for geodata visualization
  • Willingness to learn new topics and technologies (e.g., plant protection, drone surveying, measurement and sensor technology)
