Job Summary

The University Hospital Düsseldorf is seeking a Scientific Researcher specializing in Biotechnology and Transgenic Services for its Institute of Laboratory Animal Science. This role involves managing the breeding of genetically modified and wild-type rodent lines, actively contributing to transgenic services, and independently generating new genetically modified mouse and rat lines. The successful candidate will also assume responsibilities as a Genetic Engineering Project Leader, organize animal line imports/exports, and support animal experimental studies. Required Skills

Education

Completed natural science degree, e.g., Biology with a focus on Zoology or Genetics/Molecular Biology

Experience

  • Experience in breeding and keeping genetically modified mouse and rat lines
  • Experience with common methods for generating and preserving genetically modified animals
  • Experience as a Genetic Engineering Project Leader (§ 28 Genetic Engineering Safety Ordinance) or willingness to acquire the necessary expertise
