Job Summary

Join the Bavarian State Office for the Environment (LfU) as an IT Specialist to modernize the IT landscape for nature conservation. This role involves supporting the setup of operational infrastructure for the new web-based "FIS-Natur" applications, ensuring the smooth operation of databases and application server infrastructure during the development phase, and contributing to the evolution of operational concepts. You will also develop monitoring strategies, analyze application states using modern tools, and troubleshoot operational disruptions. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to environmental protection through IT, working with modern web technologies like Java and Angular, and potentially transitioning to a Kubernetes cloud infrastructure. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor, Dipl. FH) in Computer Science or Natural Sciences/Engineering with IT qualification or professional experience, or completed IT vocational training with several years of professional experience in database and web-based application operations.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the operation of databases and web-based applications
  • Experience working with central data centers is ideal

  • This is a fixed-term contract until July 31, 2029. Must be able to work in a team and contribute ideas. Willingness to work in Augsburg, Germany. Home office up to 50% possible after three months of employment.
