Job Summary

The University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher in Endothelial Cell Biology. This role involves investigating the molecular mechanisms that control cardiovascular development and disease, utilizing advanced in-vitro, zebrafish, and mouse models, with subsequent validation in patient material. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing cellular and animal experimental studies, performing various lab techniques such as FACS analysis, fluorescence microscopy, immunoblotting, and cell culture work, and presenting research findings. This position offers the opportunity to work in an international team of scientists and clinicians, exploring new hypotheses relevant to human diseases within a dynamic and highly motivated research environment. The role requires critical and analytical thinking, strong organizational skills, and a keen interest in cardiovascular scientific questions.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree and doctorate in Biology, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a comparable natural science field

Experience

  • Previous laboratory experience (recommended, not required)
  • Sound knowledge of the cardiovascular system (recommended, not required)
  • Previous experience with mouse models (recommended, not required)
