Job Summary

The Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) is seeking an IT Security Technical Standards Officer to join their team in Bonn. This role focuses on developing and maintaining a cutting-edge platform for IT security technical standards, ensuring Germany's digital future is secure. The successful candidate will be instrumental in conceptualizing, developing, and testing an open, user-friendly platform for continuous publication of IT security best practices. Key responsibilities include selecting and integrating necessary tools, ensuring platform scalability and security, and fostering community engagement through structured processes. Required Skills

Education

University Diploma/Master's degree in Computer Science, Technical Computer Science, IT Security, Physics, Mathematics, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT Management, Administrative Informatics, Business Informatics, or a comparable relevant field with an IT/technical focus.

Experience

  • Professional experience in conceptualizing, building, and operating online platforms, ideally with open-source technologies and collaborative tools (e.g., Git, Wiki, Issue-Tracker)
  • Knowledge in software development and DevOps, including version control, automation, testing, and deployment processes

Additional

  • Consent to an extended security clearance check (§ 9 SÜG) is required, which must not reveal a security risk. For foreign educational qualifications, proof of equivalence with a German degree from the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB) is necessary. Willingness to participate in further training and undertake irregular, potentially multi-day, planned business trips.
