Job Summary

The Max Rubner-Institut is seeking a Research Scientist for a two-year, full-time project focusing on food and nutritional microbiology. This role involves isolating and characterizing lipolytically active bacteria (Acinetobacter) from raw milk, performing genome sequencing and comparative genomics, and analyzing lipase genes. A key responsibility will be co-developing a rapid detection method for lipolytic Acinetobacter in milk using isothermal amplification. The successful candidate will collaborate with scientific and industry partners, meticulously document experiments and results, and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals while presenting at scientific conferences. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Nutritional Sciences (Ökotrophologie), or a comparable qualification

Experience

  • Practical experience in microbiological work

  • Experience in bacterial genomics and metagenomics (desirable)
