Job Summary
The Research Alliance Ruhr is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Future Energy Materials and Systems Research Center at the University of Duisburg-Essen. This role focuses on cutting-edge research into functional domain walls in antiferroelectrics, aiming to understand their fundamental physics and explore their applications in nanotechnology and unconventional computing. The successful candidate will conduct experimental work, including setting up new laboratories for advanced materials characterization using techniques like scanning probe microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and FIB-nanostructuring, alongside transport measurements. Required Skills
Education
PhD in Condensed Matter Physics or a related field
Experience
- Professional experience in advanced materials characterization, including scanning probe microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and focus-ion-beam nanostructuring, as well as electrical measurements
- Experience in setting up lab equipment is desired
- Experience in the training of students/PhD students is desirable
