Job Summary

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Doctoral or Postdoctoral Researcher to join the 'Interactive Systems' division at a leading university in Duisburg, Germany. The successful candidate will contribute to the 'flowAR' research project, focusing on developing creative community-building forms using Augmented Reality in collaboration with the International Garden Exhibition 2027. Day-to-day tasks involve scientific contributions to research projects in Human-Computer Interaction, including analyzing user needs, developing innovative solutions, and evaluating their effectiveness. The position also includes supervising student assistants and/or doctoral candidates. Required Skills

Education

For Doctoral candidates: Master's degree or equivalent (minimum 8 semesters) with above-average results in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Psychology, Work Science, or comparable fields. For Postdoctoral candidates: Above-average doctoral degree in Human-Computer Interaction or a related field (e.g., Augmented Reality).

Experience

  • Professional experience or knowledge in Human-Computer Interaction content
  • Experience in designing and/or evaluating Human-Computer Interaction, socio-technical systems, and/or communities

Additional

  • Fixed-term contract until May 31, 2028 (project duration). Full-time position (39 hours 50 minutes/week). Opportunity for scientific qualification (doctorate or habilitation). Position located in Duisburg, Germany, starting October 1, 2025, or later.
