Job Summary

This Senior Energy Advisor role focuses on driving the energy transition in the Caribbean by integrating renewable energy solutions. The successful candidate will conduct technical studies on photovoltaics, energy storage, and distributed energy resources, and develop innovative business models for utilities, covering energy efficiency, decentralized renewables, battery storage, and e-mobility. A key aspect of the role involves training CARILEC staff and member companies, participating in regional technical working groups, and supporting project developers and investment projects. The position also requires promoting knowledge transfer, coordinating data collection for utility benchmarking, and publishing on topics like grid resilience and decarbonization strategies. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering or a related field

Experience

  • At least 10 years of professional experience in renewable energies, energy efficiency, battery storage, and e-mobility, ideally partly acquired in the Caribbean region
  • Professional experience in technical consulting for energy sector stakeholders and decision-makers on renewable energies, energy efficiency, battery storage, e-mobility, and energy services
  • Practical experience in process moderation and in political and regulatory consulting for the introduction of energy service models and decentralized power generation from renewable energies
  • Practical experience in energy data analysis and in the development of digital tools and platforms for data collection, sharing, and evaluation
  • Professional experience in a private company and/or with a project developer (e.g., in photovoltaics)
