Job Summary
Join Siemens Healthineers as a Senior Data Engineer / Scientist to drive the digital transformation of medical imaging. In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of data-driven AI functionalities for digital X-ray products and clinical software solutions, overseeing the entire product lifecycle. A key responsibility will be developing data-sourcing strategies, ensuring the sustainable availability of training and validation data, and managing research and development data pools in compliance with data protection standards. You will collaborate with clinical partners and data suppliers, contribute to scientific exchanges, and mentor students. This position offers the chance to contribute to innovative solutions in a dynamic, interdisciplinary, and international team, shaping the future of healthcare through cutting-edge data science and engineering.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field, ideally with a doctorate (PhD)
Experience
- Many years of professional experience as a Data Engineer, Data Scientist, or in a comparable position
- Several years of experience with database technologies, data modeling, and statistics
- Experience in building and operating data lakes using common tools
- Extensive experience in medical data processing and familiarity with IT standards like DICOM
- Experience with integrating heterogeneous data sources
- Routine in using data science tools (e.g., Pandas, PyTorch) and programming languages (SQL, Python, Scala)
- Familiarity with scientific working methods and knowledge transfer to an industrial environment
- Experience collaborating with international clinical partners and suppliers in a B2B environment (advantageous)
