Job Summary
The City of Duisburg is seeking a Head of Strategic Real Estate Management to join the City Treasury's leadership team. This pivotal role involves actively shaping the future development of Duisburg's real estate sector with a high degree of autonomy. Key responsibilities include defining overarching goals for real estate management, coordinating action plans for property management standards, and contributing to strategic investment and sales decisions. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and social competencies, extensive experience in real estate management, and the ability to establish and lead a steering committee for strategic discussions. This position offers a unique opportunity to drive significant urban development initiatives within a secure public sector environment.
Required Skills
Education
For Civil Servants: Qualification for career group 2, second entry-level of general non-technical administrative service. For Employees: Master's or university diploma in Real Estate or a relevant field, OR Bachelor's or university of applied sciences diploma in Real Estate or a relevant field with equivalent skills and experience, OR administrative-specific training with second or first administrative examination (Verwaltungslehrgang II or I) with equivalent skills and experience.
Experience
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience after acquiring the required qualification (for both civil servants and employees)
- Extensive knowledge and experience in real estate management
- Professional experience in motivating and leading employees
- Experience in establishing and leading steering committees (implied)

Additional
- A completed personnel development measure for managers is desirable, or the willingness to participate in such a measure.
