Job Summary
This role involves providing comprehensive system administration support for the Chair of Computational Systems Biology, particularly in the context of an international EU project. The successful candidate will be responsible for user consultation, hardware and software selection and installation, and staff support. Key responsibilities include administering Linux and macOS infrastructure, managing accounts, backups, printing, software, and databases. The position also entails expanding bioinformatics infrastructure through independent development and automation, administering and developing High-Performance Computing (HPC) clusters, and independently conceptualizing and executing IT projects. A significant part of the role involves leading the planning, introduction, and migration of software systems like cloud systems, project servers, and communication platforms, as well as administering web servers. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent qualifications, coupled with at least three years of practical experience in system administration. Proficiency in Python, PHP, and Bash is required, along with advanced knowledge of database management, server virtualization, and service containerization.
