Job Summary
As an Electrical Engineer specializing in quantum physics, you will lead and manage the electronics laboratory/workshop, playing a crucial role in supporting cutting-edge physical experiments, particularly in optical quantum technologies and gravitational wave detection. Your day-to-day will involve designing, building, and testing electronic circuits for optical measurements and phase control in laser interferometric experiments. You will also mentor Master's and PhD students, guiding them in the design and construction of electronic and mechanical components. This role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, excellent hands-on skills in electronics, and the ability to manage procurement and ensure workplace safety as the lead electrical specialist for the institute. It's an exciting opportunity to contribute to advanced scientific research in a collaborative academic environment.
Required Skills
Education
University or University of Applied Sciences degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus on Communication Technology, High-Frequency Technology, or Measurement and Control Technology; or equivalent skills, experience, and qualifications.
Experience
- Professional experience in design and construction of electronics (analog/digital) up to lower GHz frequency range
- Hands-on experience in electronics, electrical systems, and fine mechanics
- Experience in guiding and supporting students in project work
- Experience in procurement of electronic components and measurement technology
- Experience in technical guidance of staff
- Experience as a lead electrical specialist for workplace safety
