Job Summary

The University of Rostock is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in High Energy Density Physics to join the 'Dynamic Megabar Chemistry' (MEGACHEM) ERC project. This role involves conducting cutting-edge research into chemical processes under extreme pressure and temperature conditions, which are not found naturally on Earth. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, executing, and evaluating laser-driven dynamic compression experiments to synthesize novel carbon structures. This includes working with the High Energy Density Physics group's laser systems and at international large-scale research facilities like European XFEL and ELI Beamlines. Additionally, the role includes co-supervising students and doctoral candidates within the MEGACHEM project and publishing research findings.
