Job Summary
The University of Rostock is seeking an IT Administrator / Application Support Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of IT solutions for the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences. This role involves ensuring the continuous, smooth operation of the faculty's IT infrastructure, including planning and executing updates, and administering server infrastructures, networks, and firewalls. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing PC labs, developing IT security concepts, and providing IT support and training to users. This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional with strong administrative and support skills to contribute to a modern, family-friendly university environment.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor's, University of Applied Sciences Diploma) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Computer Science Education, or a comparable field; alternatively, comprehensive, relevant IT expertise and professional experience.
Experience
- Extensive knowledge and experience in administering MS Windows and Linux systems (server and client-side), including Apple operating systems
- Experience in application support and technical operations
- Experience in creating and implementing training programs (advantageous)

- Part-time position (30 hours per week).
