Job Summary
The Centre for Organismal Studies (COS) at Heidelberg University is seeking a Biological Technical Assistant to join their Biodiversity and Plant Systematics department. This full-time, fixed-term position, available until December 2026, involves supporting fundamental biodiversity research and curating the university's Herbarium. The successful candidate will independently conduct laboratory experiments, focusing on DNA extraction, PCR, cloning, and sequencing. They will also assist with flow cytometry, plant morphometric measurements, and provide technical support for student theses. The role requires a proactive individual with a strong background in laboratory operations, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn new tasks.
