Job Summary
The Metabolomics Core Technology Platform (MCTP) at the Centre for Organismal Studies, Heidelberg University, is seeking a highly motivated part-time Technical Assistant. This role involves actively contributing to groundbreaking biomedical research projects focused on improving patient care through metabolic analyses. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and extracting metabolites from biological matrices, automating protocols using pipetting robots, and assisting with chromatographic and mass spectrometric analyses. Key responsibilities also include routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team within state-of-the-art laboratories, learn new techniques, and work autonomously on diverse projects in a leading research environment.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as a Biomedical Technical Assistant (BTA), Biological Laboratory Technical Assistant (BTLA), Chemical Technical Assistant (CTA), or Chemical Laboratory Technical Assistant (CTLA)
Experience
- Experience with analytical and chromatographic procedures
- Experience with laboratory automation
