Job Summary

This role is for a highly motivated Research Scientist to join the Jülich Centre for Neutron Science (JCNS-4) team, focusing on sample environment and low-temperature technology. The successful candidate will work in an international scientific environment at the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum (MLZ) in Garching near Munich, supporting cutting-edge neutron experiments for over 1,000 visiting researchers annually. Key responsibilities include managing and maintaining a diverse pool of sample environment equipment, such as cryostats, ovens, and magnets, ensuring smooth operation for experiments in physics, chemistry, biology, and materials science. A significant part of the role involves expertise in generating ultra-low temperatures (mK to a few K) using various cryostats and dilution inserts, along with developing new equipment in collaboration with the design department. This position offers the chance to contribute to impactful research within a leading European research center.
