Job Summary

This role is for a GIS Development Engineer focusing on research data management within the FInAL project, which develops and evaluates innovative insect-promoting measures in agricultural landscapes. The successful candidate will be the central point of contact for research data management, primarily supporting and coordinating the BEXIS2 research data management system. Key responsibilities include configuring BEXIS2, creating user documentation, training users on data structures and entry, and ensuring compliance with data management plans. The role also involves supporting GIS and data management activities like data analysis, collection, preparation, and map creation. This position offers a stimulating environment, contributing to significant environmental research.

Required Skills

Education

University of Applied Sciences or Bachelor's degree in Geoinformatics, Landscape Planning, Geography, Agricultural, Forestry, Environmental Sciences, or a comparable discipline.

Experience

  • Experience in FAIR research data management
  • Experience with research data management systems like BEXIS2, or the ability to quickly learn new software like BEXIS2
  • Experience in interdisciplinary teamwork

Additional

  • Willingness to undertake multi-day business trips, including fieldwork. This is a fixed-term part-time position (19.5 hours/week) until September 30, 2028.
