Job Summary
This role involves developing and optimizing assembly processes for automotive cockpit interior modules, including instrument panels and center consoles, for a leading global automotive interior manufacturer. The successful candidate will participate in new product introductions, conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) evaluations, and create essential documentation like work instructions and PFMEAs. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing and resolving shop floor process issues, supporting jig and fixture design, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive lean manufacturing initiatives. This position is ideal for a professional with a strong background in automotive interior assembly, seeking to contribute to a new production facility in Ingolstadt, Germany, serving major German automakers like Audi.
Required Skills
Education
Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in assembly process engineering for automotive interior systems
- Strong understanding of cockpit module structures and assembly sequence
- Working experience in JIS or Audi-linked production lines is highly preferred
- Experience at leading Tier 1 suppliers (e.g., Yanfeng, Faurecia, Adient, Lear, IAC) is preferred
- Previous involvement in projects with Audi or other major OEMs is preferred
- Knowledge of cockpit module interfaces, electronics integration, and tooling ergonomics is preferred
- Familiarity with Chinese-German automotive plant setup and communication practices is preferred
