Job Summary

This role at Gold Standard Diagnostics Freiburg GmbH, part of the Eurofins Group, involves critical work in food safety, specifically detecting foodborne pathogens and genetically modified organisms (GMOs) using real-time PCR. The successful candidate will conduct microbiological work in S2/S3 biosafety level labs, including microorganism and nucleic acid concentration adjustments, microbiological enrichment of food samples, and nucleic acid isolation. They will perform real-time PCRs and ddPCRs, collaborate closely with scientific staff on developing PCR mixes and enrichment conditions, and prepare buffers and culture media. The position requires active participation in quality assurance through contributing to lab-specific instructions and attending weekly meetings. This is an R&D role, not a routine service lab, offering opportunities for professional growth in a collaborative team environment.
