Job Summary
The City of Krefeld is seeking a Head of Central Services Department for its Urban and Transport Planning division. This pivotal role involves leading a team of approximately 26 employees across two sections, overseeing critical functions such as contribution assessments for road construction projects, public-law development agreements, and comprehensive service functions including human resources, accounting, procurement support, grant and contract management, and budget planning. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of public finance and legal frameworks, and a strategic mindset to optimize grant management and secure new funding opportunities. Education
Eligibility for Laufbahngruppe 2, 2. Einstiegsamt (higher administrative service) or Laufbahngruppe 2, 1. Einstiegsamt (general administrative service) with successful completion of modular qualification (at least A 13 status), OR a completed scientific university degree (Master / Diplom (University)) in Administrative Sciences, Business Administration, or Law.
Experience
- Several years of proven leadership experience in organizational units
- Extensive knowledge in budget and treasury law, grant law (EU, Federal, NRW State), personnel law, procurement law, and related legal fields
- Long-term experience in grant application procedures
- Strong intuition in dealing with political decision-makers and press representatives
