The successful candidate will join the 'Leishmania and Innate Immunity' laboratory at the University Hospital Erlangen, conducting cutting-edge research to unravel how eosinophils interact with different Leishmania species and influence infection outcomes. Day-to-day tasks will involve advanced cell culture techniques, infection experiments using conditional knockout mouse models, and comprehensive mechanistic analyses utilizing multi-color flow cytometry, high-resolution microscopy, ELISA, multiplex cytokine analyses, and omics technologies like RNA sequencing and metabolomics.
