Job Summary
The University of Leipzig is seeking a dedicated Academic Staff Member for its Faculty of Physics and Earth System Sciences. This role involves teaching physics and physics didactics, including organizing and conducting a mathematics bridging course for first-semester students. A key part of the position is the development and implementation of new digital teaching formats and supporting other lecturers in their use. The successful candidate will also be responsible for creating lecture schedules, supporting student advising, and contributing to public relations events. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the curriculum, engage in scientific monitoring of study success, and contribute to the faculty's committees, all within a dynamic and internationally oriented academic environment.
Required Skills
Education
Above-average university degree and completed doctorate in Physics
Experience
- Proven experience in university teaching in physics-related degree programs
- Experience in supervising qualification theses in physics-related degree programs
- Experience in supervising student final theses
- Proven experience in curriculum development
- Experience in acquiring and managing didactics- or research-related third-party funds
- Experience with a range of methods for E-Teaching & Blended Learning offerings
- Proven experience in the development of (digital) didactic methods and corresponding technical equipment
- Visible publication experience

- Knowledge of the Campus Management System Almaweb is desirable.
