Job Summary

This Research Associate position at the Institute for Data-Centric Software Systems (IDSS) in Karlsruhe focuses on advancing federated machine learning for robotic AI. The role involves training neural scene and capability models in real and simulated environments to support complex grasping and manipulation tasks. You will research and develop specific Federated Learning (FL) methods for aggregating locally trained AI and NeRF models across diverse robotic systems, integrating these into distributed AI architectures (Edge/Fog/Cloud). Collaboration with industry and research partners, contributing to scientific publications, and supervising student work are also key aspects.
