Job Summary
This Research Associate position at the Technical University of Central Hesse, based in Giessen, focuses on cutting-edge research in continuous production concepts for nanoparticulate therapeutics. The role involves leading research in upstream and/or downstream processing for therapeutic viruses and extracellular vesicles, optimizing cell culture media, integrating advanced process analytics, and exploring novel continuous process concepts like continuous chromatography. A key aspect will also be the development of specialized training programs, including those leveraging Virtual/Augmented Reality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biotechnology, experience in project coordination, and a passion for independent research and teamwork within an interdisciplinary environment.
Required Skills
Education
Completed scientific university degree (e.g., university diploma or accredited Master's) in Biotechnology or a related field. Doctorate in Biotechnology, Cell Culture Technology, EV or Virus Analytics, or Chromatography is desirable.
Experience
- Professional experience in project management or research coordination
- Practical experience in coordinating third-party funded projects (advantageous)
- Experience in public relations and network building, further education or training (desirable)
- Practical experience in the production and analysis of nanoparticles

- This is a full-time, temporary position until September 30, 2029, contingent on project approval from the BMBF. The role requires high motivation, enjoyment of independent work, and strong communication and teamwork skills. Candidates should also possess their own research ideas.
