PhD Student (Biology, Molecular Medicine, Biochemistry, Biotechnology) | Biologe (m/w/d)
Universitätsklinikum Münster
Job Summary
This PhD position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in reproductive biology within the Emmy Noether-funded group of Dr. Dr. med. Alexander Busch. The successful candidate will investigate the regulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis, focusing on how genetic variants impact male reproductive function and spermatogenesis. Day-to-day tasks will involve performing advanced molecular biology techniques such as single-nucleus and bulk RNA sequencing, protein validation via IHC and Western blotting, and analyzing large-scale transcriptomic data using R and Python. The role is integral to the IMF-funded "ANDROGEN" project, combining GWAS, transcriptomics, and reporter assays. This position is attractive due to its central role in a multi-omics project with direct translational relevance, offering individual mentoring, conference participation, and strong career development support in a collaborative, international, and family-friendly research environment.
