Job Summary

This doctoral position focuses on cutting-edge research in generative AI, specifically leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance sustainability for regional small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The successful candidate will collaborate closely with companies to define practical research questions, develop technical concepts for software pipelines like Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and implement and deploy AI applications. A key aspect of the role involves systematically evaluating AI solutions, designing assessment methods, conducting tests, and identifying areas for improvement. The position also requires scientific dissemination of results through reports, presentations, conference talks, and publications, alongside active participation in scientific events. This role offers a unique opportunity to pursue a doctorate within an employment framework, contributing to both academic knowledge and real-world sustainable solutions.

Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree (Diplom Uni / Master) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, AI, Data Science, or a comparable field.

Experience

  • The position is initially limited to 2 years. The conduct of a doctorate is explicitly supported and desired within the employment relationship.
