Job Summary
The German Diabetes Center (DDZ) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Junior Research Group Crosstalk. This role focuses on investigating how exercise-induced myokines, secreted proteins from adipose and skeletal muscle tissues, impact whole-body metabolism and metabolic health. The successful candidate will assess the effects of novel myokines on fat and muscle cell function, uncover their molecular mechanisms, and test their therapeutic potential in mouse models using biochemical, genetic, proteomic, and in vivo methods. This position offers a dynamic, interdisciplinary research environment with state-of-the-art facilities, fostering professional development and collaboration among passionate scientists, contributing to the understanding and treatment of metabolic diseases like obesity and diabetes.
Required Skills
Education
Ph.D. or Dr. rer. nat. in molecular biology, biochemistry, physiology, or a related discipline
Experience
- Demonstrated experience in working with mouse models
- Demonstrated experience with molecular biology techniques
- Strong background in metabolism, cell biology, or proteomics
- Experience with large-scale OMICS data analysis is highly advantageous
