Job Summary

This role involves ensuring automotive manufacturers and suppliers comply with national and international material standards and regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, reviewing, and approving IMDS material data sheets, analyzing material data for legal and safety-relevant chemical content, and presenting findings to clients. Key tasks include managing vehicle bills of materials, sourcing missing material data from the supply chain, and providing expert support on IMDS and restricted materials via a helpdesk. This position offers an extensive onboarding process and the opportunity to work autonomously on diverse projects, contributing to environmental assessments and continuous process improvement within the team. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach are essential for success in this dynamic environment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Materials Engineering, Vehicle Construction, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Management, or a solid technical education.

Experience

  • Professional experience in chemistry, material science, or related technical fields, ideally within the automotive industry.
  • Practical knowledge of materials, particularly automotive components and construction.
  • Initial knowledge of legal substance prohibitions (e.g., ELV, POP, TSCA, REACh) is desirable.
  • Initial user experience with life cycle assessment software, with knowledge of "LCA for Experts" being advantageous.
