Job Summary

The Deputy Head of rvSystem Department will lead and manage a team of approximately 40 individuals responsible for the development and operation of the critical rvSystem application, which serves as the core ERP system for the German Pension Insurance. This role involves ensuring the continuous development, planning, installation, and in-house operation of rvSystem, a Linux-based application utilizing Oracle databases, JEE applications, and COBOL (rvDialog), currently undergoing modernization. The successful candidate will optimize services, implement IT security measures for critical infrastructures, manage projects, and coordinate with external service providers. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to one of Germany's largest IT modernization projects, rvEvolution, aiming to redefine work processes within the organization. It requires strong leadership, technical expertise in enterprise application management, and a commitment to organizational goals.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master's or equivalent) in Computer Science, Administrative Informatics, Business Informatics, or comparable IT-related fields; alternatively, a university degree in another field combined with several years of relevant IT professional experience; or meeting the civil service requirements for higher non-technical or technical service.

Experience

  • Several years of current professional experience in IT, including leadership experience
  • Professional experience in the secure operation of business-critical enterprise applications, preferably rvSystem
  • Experience with maintenance intervals, load behavior, errors, causes of disruptions, and recovery times in IT systems
