Job Summary
The South Hesse Police Headquarters is seeking an IT Specialist to join their Criminal Investigation Department in Darmstadt. In this role, you will be crucial in digital forensics, focusing on securing, processing, and analyzing electronic data from various sources, including laptops, PCs, IoT devices, and vehicles. Your responsibilities will extend to supporting on-site operations, identifying and collecting digital traces, and presenting findings as an expert witness in court. You will also contribute to developing new investigative techniques and tools, advising law enforcement on IT matters, and delivering training. Required Skills
Education
Relevant university degree (e.g., Computer Science, Technical Computer Science, Digital Forensics) OR recognized vocational training (e.g., IT Specialist)
Experience
- Professional experience in IT, specifically hardware and software
- Experience with various operating systems and databases
- Knowledge and interest in building automation technologies and protocols
- Experience in applied microprocessors, electrical engineering, and system-level programming
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, C/C++)
