Job Summary
The South Hesse Police Headquarters is seeking a dedicated Forensic Technician for a part-time (50%) position in Rüsselsheim. This crucial role involves extensive fieldwork and laboratory analysis, focusing on securing, processing, and analyzing evidence at crime scenes, accident sites, and disaster locations. Daily tasks include searching for and documenting traces during burglaries, vehicle examinations, and fire investigations, participating in regional on-call duty (including outside regular hours, weekends, and holidays), and conducting detailed lab work involving chemical trace securing methods. The technician will handle complex evidence such as DNA, tool marks, fibers, glass, and micro-traces, and perform identification tasks for suspects and unknown deceased persons, including DNA measures and creating photographic documentation. Candidates must possess exceptional physical and psychological resilience, technical understanding, and the ability to work independently and responsibly, making this a challenging yet highly rewarding career in criminal investigation.
