Job Summary

This role involves working with environmental information systems to manage and report on industrial emissions and plant inventories. The specialist will be responsible for data capture, reporting, visualization, and assessment, contributing to the implementation of European environmental standards and informing various stakeholders, including the public and government officials. Key responsibilities include providing primary support to users of specialized procedures, collaborating in a federal state project group, maintaining relevant web pages, ensuring data plausibility, and generating standard reports for the environmental sector, particularly for the INSPIRE directive. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in data management and GIS, coupled with excellent communication and organizational abilities, all within a supportive team environment focused on environmental protection.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed university degree (Bachelor's or equivalent) in a technical or natural science discipline (e.g., Technical Environmental Protection, Computer Science/Information Processing, Natural, Geo, or Environmental Sciences) OR equivalent skills and experience matching the job profile OR civil service qualification for the higher technical service in environmental administration.

Additional

  • Work location in Potsdam OT Groß Glienicke or Cottbus. Must be able to work independently and conscientiously. Basic knowledge of environmental law is advantageous. Applicants with foreign degrees must provide German translation and evaluation from ZAB or ANABIN.
