Job Summary

This role involves conducting chemical analyses of aqueous samples, including sample preparation, gravimetry, titrations, photometry, ion chromatography, and CFA. The successful candidate will also be responsible for determining AOX and TOC/TN, performing chemical calculations, preparing solutions, and maintaining/calibrating automated measuring devices. Key responsibilities include entering analytical values into the Laboratory Information and Management System (LIMS), ensuring workplace-related quality assurance, and participating in interlaboratory comparisons. The position offers a dynamic work environment with modern analytical equipment and the opportunity to engage in cross-departmental tasks such as water and sediment sampling, operating/maintaining water quality measuring stations, and working with data loggers and underwater drones. This is a fixed-term position as a maternity leave cover, with potential for extension.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed vocational training as a Chemical Laboratory Technician or Chemical-Technical Assistant (CTA) or comparable and suitable qualifications.

Experience

  • Professional experience in water analysis (anion chromatography, CFA, C/N analysis) using modern analytical techniques and conventional methods (photometry, titration)
  • Experience with a Laboratory Information and Management System (LIMS) (advantageous)
  • Experience in AOX determination in water (advantageous)
  • Experience in water sample collection (advantageous)
