Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Junior Stress Engineer to join a leading company in Zurich on a freelance or temporary project basis, focusing on cutting-edge aerospace applications. You will be responsible for conducting crucial structural-mechanical simulations and optimizations, particularly analyzing composite and sandwich structures. A core part of the role involves utilizing advanced tools like MSC NASTRAN and Altair Hyperworks (Optistruct) to create detailed mathematical models. Furthermore, you will enhance efficiency by developing optimization workflows and automating FEM simulations using scripting languages like Python. Success in this role requires a Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, practical experience in FE Analysis within the aerospace sector, and advanced proficiency in English for technical reporting and client presentations. This position offers invaluable professional experience and the chance to contribute directly to the efficiency and expertise of the Stress Office.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree from a University or ETH in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering

Experience

  • Professional experience in an aerospace company or relevant engineering fields
  • Focusing on Finite Element (FE) Analysis using MSC NASTRAN and Altair Hyperworks
  • Understanding and application of static and dynamic structural analysis principles
  • Capability to automate FEM simulations using Python API or similar scripting methods
