Job Summary

The City of Duisburg is seeking an IT and Communications Technology Specialist to join their Innovation and Central Services department. This role focuses on developing and maintaining the central IT architecture, with a strong emphasis on hybrid Microsoft 365 environments. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and continuously evolving the IT infrastructure, ensuring secure and scalable identity and access management through Active Directory and Entra ID integration. Key tasks also include designing and implementing solutions for client and endpoint management using Microsoft Intune, monitoring system performance, and creating comprehensive documentation. Additionally, you will manage IT service requests and incident resolution for central IT systems. This position requires deep expertise in Microsoft technologies, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree (FH/HS) or equivalent in Computer Science, OR completed vocational training as an IT Specialist (System Integration or Application Development), Management Assistant for Digitalization Management, IT Systems Management Assistant, or Administrative Specialist IT. Required Expert-Level Certifications: Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert (MS-102), Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100), or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305).

Experience

  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience after obtaining a university degree in Computer Science (Bachelor or equivalent) OR
  • At least 6 years of relevant professional experience after completing vocational training as an IT Specialist (System Integration or Application Development), Management Assistant for Digitalization Management, IT Systems Management Assistant, or Administrative Specialist IT
  • Experience in leading IT projects, conducting workshops, and Proof of Concepts
  • Experience with security concepts, threat monitoring, and compliance
  • Experience in managing user, group, and device identities via Entra ID
  • Experience in the administration and integration of central Microsoft 365 services

Additional

  • Must be willing and able to continuously educate oneself on new Microsoft technologies and acquire relevant expert-level certifications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
