Job Summary

This role at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel's Institute for Materials Science offers a motivated individual the opportunity to pursue a Ph.D. while contributing to cutting-edge research in renewable energy. The successful candidate will focus on defect design and encapsulation techniques for perovskite solar cells, aiming to enhance their stability and lifespan through novel passivation and barrier film encapsulation concepts. This involves combining solution processing and gas phase deposition techniques. Beyond research, the position includes teaching responsibilities, such as supervising exercises and practicals for Bachelor's and Master's students in Materials Science. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (preferably very good) in Materials Science or Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry

Experience

  • Experience in the manufacturing and characterization of perovskite photovoltaics
  • Experience with advanced thin-film characterization techniques (desirable)
  • Familiarity with vapor deposition techniques (desirable)
  • Ability to perform theoretical modeling and simulations (desirable)
