Job Summary

The Christian-Albrechts-University zu Kiel is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join the Kiel Institute for Responsible Innovation (KIRI), focusing on Technology Management. This part-time (75%, 29.03 hours/week) position is fixed-term until December 31, 2028, and is funded under the BMFTR project, BlueHealthTech, which focuses on the intersection of marine science and medicine. The associate will conduct challenging empirical research (qualitative and quantitative) within this transdisciplinary innovation ecosystem. Key responsibilities include analyzing cooperation and transfer processes, governance mechanisms, and value chains in early innovation phases, utilizing modern laboratory infrastructure, and producing high-quality scientific publications for leading journals and international conferences. Candidates must hold an above-average Master's degree in fields such as Business Administration, Economics, or Industrial Engineering, possess strong analytical and methodical skills, and be fluent in both German and English (C1 level). This role offers excellent scientific mentorship and the explicit opportunity to pursue a PhD.
