Job Summary

This role is for an Electrical Power Engineering Specialist at the Waterways and Shipping Office Donau MDK in Nuremberg, Germany, starting November 1, 2025. The specialist will be responsible for executing complex repair and maintenance tasks on highly sensitive electrical power engineering systems. Key duties include troubleshooting, functional testing, and approving systems for operation, as well as supervising construction work performed by external companies. The position also involves participating in work order planning and requires on-call duty approximately one week every two months to ensure continuous shipping operations. This is a full-time, permanent position within a large federal network, offering a stable environment focused on maintaining vital waterways.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an Electrician for Industrial Systems or equivalent vocational training with a minimum standard duration of 3 years (e.g., Electrician specializing in Energy and Building Technology).

Experience

  • Professional experience in the repair and maintenance of electrical power engineering systems
  • Knowledge of rights and obligations on construction sites

Languages

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • Must possess a Class B driving license and be willing to drive official vehicles. Required to be medically fit, free from vertigo, possess a German Bronze Swimming Badge, and be suitable for night shifts within the context of on-call duty, including working in confined, dark, and damp spaces, as well as outdoors exposed to weather.
