Job Summary
The Bundesamt für Seeschifffahrt und Hydrographie (BSH) seeks an IT Specialist for System Integration, focusing on Windows Client Administration, for a fixed-term two-year contract in Rostock. This role involves the comprehensive support of local IT systems, including the installation, configuration, and administration of over 3,000 Windows clients (virtual, PCs, laptops), as well as managing mobile devices and IP phones. You will handle the entire lifecycle of end-user devices, from deployment to disposal via auction, and provide essential first and second-level support to resolve user issues. Collaboration with other IT teams, such as network and server administrators, is crucial. The position offers a dynamic work environment utilizing modern IT practices like ITIL and DevOps, working with sophisticated technology and diverse applications, making it a varied and engaging role.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration, or equivalent recognized qualifications/experience.
Experience
- Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration
- OR equivalent practical experience of at least 3 years as an Administrator of Windows Clients and Services
- Professional experience in installation, administration, and management of Windows Clients, standard Microsoft Office products, and end-user devices
- Experience in the administration of central multifunction devices (print and scan)
- Experience in troubleshooting and system monitoring

- Must be eligible for a fixed-term contract without a factual basis (as per § 14 Abs. 2 TzBfG), meaning candidates who have not previously been employed by the Federal Republic of Germany. Foreign educational qualifications require verification of comparability with German degrees via the anabin database.
