Job Summary
The City of Mainz is seeking a Project Manager to oversee civil engineering projects within its Road Operations department. This role involves managing projects from preparation through completion, ensuring they meet established standards for construction timelines, costs, and quality. You will act as the client's representative, coordinating internally with various city departments and externally with utility companies and other stakeholders. The position requires a strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction contract law (VOB/HOAI), and proficiency in MS Office and GIS systems. Required Skills
Education
One of the following qualifications: Qualification for civil service pay grade A10 LBesO in Natural Sciences and Technology; Completed university degree in Engineering; Completed training as a Technician or Master Craftsman with willingness for further qualification; Completed three-year vocational training with willingness to complete Technician/Master Craftsman training and subsequent employer-funded further qualification.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in civil engineering, road construction, or structural engineering.
- Experience in project preparation and management as a client representative.
- Experience in coordinating with external parties and internal departments.
- Experience with construction timelines, cost development, and quality assurance.
