Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Specialist for Electron Microscopy to join our Pathology Institute's Electron Microscopy facility. In this role, you will be instrumental in performing electron microscopy for biomedical research, encompassing sample preparation and operation of transmission and scanning electron microscopes. You will collaborate closely with scientists, gain insights into diverse biomedical research areas, and also contribute to the analysis of patient samples for diagnostic purposes. Key responsibilities include supporting cryo-preparation techniques, array tomography, 3D reconstruction, and digitalizing specimens. You will also train AI tools for segmentation and interpret ultrastructural findings. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Medical Technical Assistant (MTA) or Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), or comparable qualification

Experience

  • Professional experience in histology is advantageous
  • Experience with electron microscopy is advantageous
  • Experience in operating laboratory equipment and microscopes
  • Experience with laboratory information systems

Additional

  • Must have good fine motor skills for working with very small samples. Requires a careful and precise working style. Must be able to work independently. Interest in biomedical research is required. Contract is limited until April 30, 2027, with the possibility of extension.
