Job Summary

This role involves contributing to a DFG-funded research project focused on advanced design and atmospheric pressure fabrication technologies for optical instrumentation. You will investigate plasma processing for ultra-precise shaping, correction, and microstructuring of optical surfaces, aiming to develop a complete atmospheric pressure process chain for hybrid optical elements. Key responsibilities include experimental work, analyzing plasma-etching processes on glasses and resist materials, characterizing surfaces, and deriving optimal process parameters. You will also be involved in reporting, correspondence with international partners, and publishing scientific findings. This position offers the opportunity for further academic qualification, typically a doctorate, and is based at the Leibniz Institute for Surface Modification in Leipzig.
