Job Summary
The State Examination Office for Health and Veterinary Affairs of Saxony is seeking a Biological Laboratory Technician for their Microbiology department in Leipzig. This role involves performing veterinary diagnostics for all animal species, focusing on bacteriology and mycology, including the diagnosis of listed and reportable animal diseases and zoonoses. Responsibilities include preparing and executing methods for pathogen isolation, typing, characterization, and performing resistance tests. You will also manage sample and data entry in a laboratory information system, analyze results, operate and maintain analytical equipment, and contribute to quality management and hygiene protocols. The position requires a completed vocational training as a Biological Laboratory Technician or equivalent, professional experience in the specified areas, and PC skills. The role is full-time, fixed-term until May 14, 2027, with potential for part-time.
